Chambersburg Bible Church

Coming Again in 2010?

Pastor Gary Yoder

Pastor Gary Yoder

At Chambersburg Bible Church, we uphold the truth of scripture as the guiding light of our ministry. The Bible says that the “Word of God is quick and powerful… piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit” (Hebrews 4:12Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
). Preaching is one of the primary means by which we hear and understand the message of the Lord. We believe that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17Romans 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
), and that God places a distinct emphasis upon the “hearing of the Word of God” (Nehemiah 8:3,8Nehemiah 8:3,8
3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law. from...: Heb. from the light 8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
). While we will not be able to post every sermon that Pastor preaches on the website for your “hearing,” we will attempt to provide a number of selections that will be of a benefit to you in your spiritual walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Once we have a sizable collection available on the website, we will attempt to list the primary categories for your ease of browsing. Each sermon includes an excerpt of the Pastor’s outline to provide an overview of the subject message. If you interested in subscribing to a podcast, which will automatically download new sermon audio to your computer and/or media player, you can subscribe to our podcast feed here, or on the sidebar link on most pages.

If there is a sermon that you are interested in that is not currently available via podcast, please contact Pastor via the Contact Page, and we will determine whether or not we can make it available.

Text: Matthew 16:24-28
Topic: Emphasizing the value of man’s soul for eternity We have grown so accustomed to the principle of exchange in our society that we scarcely think about it. Even though we do not think in terms of an exchange being made, we exchange things every day. An exchange takes place when we are willing to give one thing for another. Common daily exchanges could include time, money, and products. Examples... Listen & Read Outline →

Text: Revelation 22:12
Topic: Christ’s return for his Saints is imminent! We must be living our lives with the expectation of the Lord’s imminent  return upon our minds. His return  could happen at any time, nothing  is preventing it from happening. We often say that, eschatologically speaking , “it is the next thing on God’s calendar” (although we know that God is not bound by time). We hold to a dispensational... Listen & Read Outline →

Text: John 17:1-19
Topic: An examination of Christ’s prayer for the Church as recorded in the book of John James 5:16 tells us that the effectual prayers of a righteous man availeth much.
