Do You Love God?

Do you love God?  Do you really love God? I am amazed at the number of people who say they love God yet seem to have little or no understanding as to what love for God is.  It is easy to say “I love God,” but love for God is difficult to measure.  Love cannot be measured with a ruler or a yardstick.  You cannot pour love into a measuring cup to find out how much you actually have.  Love in not a commodity that you can carry in a paper sack.  Love for God is an allusive concept! Does that mean that those who say they love God simply must be taken at their word?  Is it possible to determine... Read →

Valued According to a Divine Exchange Rate

Text: Matthew 16:24-28
Topic: Emphasizing the value of man’s soul for eternity We have grown so accustomed to the principle of exchange in our society that we scarcely think about it. Even though we do not think in terms of an exchange being made, we exchange things every day. An exchange takes place when we are willing to give one thing for another. Common daily exchanges could include time, money, and products. Examples of these exchanges can be seen in: Employment – exchanging the employee’s time for the employer’s... Read →

Update From the van Reijns

We just completed our second trip out West with meetings in Iowa and Colorado. We are exhausted, having dealt with both cold and stomach bugs, but we are grateful for the many opportunities we had to serve our great God. What a joy it is to preach God’s Word and see the Spirit of God using His Word to transform people. Our ministry right now is among God’s people in the United States, but we anticipate commencing our ministry in the Netherlands this year. We praise the Lord for the continued increase in our support as we now have nearly 65% of our financial needs. As the economy slowly recovers... Read →

Dear Co-laborers, While our hearts break for all the loss and calamities in Haiti, we are thrilled at the way the Lord’s people, churches and individuals stand behind us and are trying to do all they can to assist us. What a comfort it is to us to have the whole IPM body (our mission board) mobilized for the cause of Haiti and the Sauls. We highly appreciate those who have called, emailed, are praying, giving, and offering their help. We regret that we are unable to reply to all the emails. Some thank you letters to churches and individuals whom we visited during our last trip to the US are long overdue and we apologize. May God show His goodness to you as you show yours to men that they might glorify Him. Thank you for all your prayers, your concern, and all you are doing to help us and... Read More →

Thank you for your prayers for our Christmas outreaches. We had visitors at all of our events and we are so thankful for these opportunities. SNOW! Our girls had a great time in the recent snowy weather building snowmen and making snow angels. We are also grateful for the opportunity to meet several of our neighbors and their children who also were outside to enjoy the snow. OUTREACH We began our Coffee Morning with few visitors but attracted a pretty full house by the end. We handed out invitations to our special Christmas services. For our Carol Service, we were thankful to see a good number of visitors, including our new neighbors and a shopkeeper friend of ours. Steve preached a short gospel sermon, and several stayed for tea and mince pies afterward. Our Christmas Day service... Read More →

January 15, 2009 12:36PM (EST) - Brother Royden Saul writes: “We appreciate you standing with us during this calamity, but we know that you have been praying for us even before that, and it is because of your prayers that we escaped death on Tuesday. We had just arrived in Port-au-Prince from Bassin, when the earthquake hit, and are unable to return to Bassin at this time. The situation here is a nightmare, as bodies are being found and more are still trapped inside buildings. Yesterday, many of those who were trapped inside the rubble have stopped calling for help. Many of the workers have stopped pulling bodies out because of the bad smell. Everywhere you go, you can smell the bodies, which they have piled on the side of the roads. Maude, (my mom)’s brother was killed when his building... Read More →
