“Missions Moments” is a weekly blog of updates and letters from our missionaries serving the Lord around the world. It is our desire that the work of the Lord through missions would continue to flourish, and one of the primary means by which believers can become involved in world missions is through prayer. Many of our missionaries send email updates regarding the work the Lord is doing through their ministries, and when possible, we would like to share what God is doing through His choice servants. Remember to always keep our missionaries in your prayers, and we will praise the Lord with you when the Lord answers prayer in ways we never thought possible!
We just completed our second trip out West with meetings in Iowa and Colorado. We are exhausted, having dealt with both cold and stomach bugs, but we are grateful for the many opportunities we had to serve our great God. What a joy it is to preach God’s Word and see the Spirit of God using His Word to transform people. Our ministry right now is among God’s people in the United States, but we anticipate commencing our ministry in the Netherlands this year. We praise the Lord for the continued increase in our support as we now have nearly 65% of our financial needs. As the economy slowly recovers from the recession, please pray with us for the remaining churches to join our support team by faith. We are praying that the Lord will enable us to leave for the Netherlands by the end of this summer.... Read this Post →
Come over into Macedonia and help us . . . We got that call from the Philippines back in 2000 and several times since, but have always been “hindered” in going. Now God has opened the door and Ruby and l will fly in April and minister there through the first week in May. We will appreciate your fervent prayers for we have a rather Olympian schedule. Some of the opportunities we will have include the Maximum Security Prison in Manila, where I will speak to graduates of our Source of Light school inside the prison – what a blessing! We will also have several opportunities to minister to both police and the military. ln addition, we will conduct a total of four WWBI Training Seminars in different sections of the islands to equip our brothers there to set up Bible lnstitutes for... The Fellowship of Bible Churches is sponsoring a missions trip to Peru, South America in the last week of January 2010, led by Pastor John Miller. Pastor Ben Fisler will be traveling with the team to serve the Lord in Peru while representing the Chambersburg Bible Church. This opportunity will present much needed support to the national church leaders in Peru while ministering to the youth and other believers in local churches. Evangelizing the lost is also a critical component of the trip, as the team seeks to fulfill the great commission as commanded by our Lord in Matthew 28:16-20. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe... Read this Post →
Dear Co-laborers, While our hearts break for all the loss and calamities in Haiti, we are thrilled at the way the Lord’s people, churches and individuals stand behind us and are trying to do all they can to assist us. What a comfort it is to us to have the whole IPM body (our mission board) mobilized for the cause of Haiti and the Sauls. We highly appreciate those who have called, emailed, are praying, giving, and offering their help. We regret that we are unable to reply to all the emails. Some thank you letters to churches and individuals whom we visited during our last trip to the US are long overdue and we apologize. May God show His goodness to you as you show yours to men that they might glorify Him. Thank you for all your prayers, your concern, and all you are doing to help us and... Read this Post →
Thank you for your prayers for our Christmas outreaches. We had visitors at all of our events and we are so thankful for these opportunities. SNOW! Our girls had a great time in the recent snowy weather building snowmen and making snow angels. We are also grateful for the opportunity to meet several of our neighbors and their children who also were outside to enjoy the snow. OUTREACH We began our Coffee Morning with few visitors but attracted a pretty full house by the end. We handed out invitations to our special Christmas services. For our Carol Service, we were thankful to see a good number of visitors, including our new neighbors and a shopkeeper friend of ours. Steve preached a short gospel sermon, and several stayed for tea and mince pies afterward. Our Christmas Day service... Read this Post →
January 15, 2009 12:36PM (EST) - Brother Royden Saul writes: “We appreciate you standing with us during this calamity, but we know that you have been praying for us even before that, and it is because of your prayers that we escaped death on Tuesday. We had just arrived in Port-au-Prince from Bassin, when the earthquake hit, and are unable to return to Bassin at this time. The situation here is a nightmare, as bodies are being found and more are still trapped inside buildings. Yesterday, many of those who were trapped inside the rubble have stopped calling for help. Many of the workers have stopped pulling bodies out because of the bad smell. Everywhere you go, you can smell the bodies, which they have piled on the side of the roads. Maude, (my mom)’s brother was killed when his building... Read this Post →
As we think about the faithfulness of the Lord at this time of the year, we give thanks for you and pray that you will experience his goodness and rejoice in him. We live in a world filled with turmoil, uncertainties, failures and sometimes disappointments. Nevertheless, we can still rejoice in the goodness of the Lord. David was a man whose life was filled with many ups and downs. For example, from a giant-slaying hero he was reduced to a fugitive by the jealous King Saul. From the position of a just and righteous king, he dropped into the valley of despondency-after he became guilty of adultery, concealment of sin and murder, and but for the pardon of God would faced the death sentence. He knew firsthand how it felt to be loved today and hated the following day. How it felt to be betrayed... Read this Post →
We appreciate the opportunity to update you personally about what the Lord is doing in our lives and ministry in recent days. The biggest event in our lives lately has been our move from an apartment to a house. As you can imagine, this required a great deal of time and effort, and as it followed on the heels of my parents’ visit in September, we have nearly forgotten what it is like to have a normal routine. With regards to our move, we ask that you pray for good opportunities to meet neighbors and begin friendships with them. People tend to be quite guarded when meeting strangers, so we definitely need the Lord’s help even in meeting neighbors who may not even be interested in meeting us. I have been making efforts to become involved in the Religious Education program in our local... Read this Post →
