Chambersburg Bible Church

Let God be Magnified

Greetings from Poco Doce, Ceara, Brazil!

We praise God for your involvement in the ministry here.  Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support. Nancy & I have been living full time in the interior, in Poco Doce for almost a month.  We still have a lot of things in boxes, etc. and appreciate your prayers as we get settled.   We are teaching at Antioch Bible Institute.  I am teaching the book of Proverbs, and Nancy is teaching several music classes including getting a hand bell choir started.  November 14 we are going with the entire Bible Institute to a missionary conference in one Fortaleza area church and a Sunday morning service at another church.  We appreciate your prayers as we serve at ABI.

Thank you for praying for our family—Lydia and her husband, Shawn: missionaries to  Spain, Andrew and his wife, Damaris:  serving as youth pastor in Philly, Rosie:  teaching and counseling children in Brazil (praying about a survey trip to Indonesia), and Libby: studying at a Christian College & planning 2010 summer missionary trip to Brazil.  Pray for children we are seeing come to Sunday School here in Poco Doce.  Nancy is starting a Sunday School class for children and has 5 very enthusiastic children coming every Sunday.  Pray that we can reach more children and adults!

Pray for my health situation. Last Sunday night I spoke 35-40minutes on our “great salvation” Heb 2:1-4Heb 2:1-4
2 1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. let...: Gr. run out as leaking vessels 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? gifts: or, distributions
, and as soon as the message was over, I had to sit rest and greet folks from my chair instead of standing to shake hands Brazilian style.  After sitting 10 minutes I was OK to take some equipment (Rosie had showed a power point on missions  in Asia) out to the car and I was OK to drive 27 kilometers home.

Pray for strength for Nancy, too.  Our move here was very tiring and with teaching at the Bible Institute we are both working on recovering.   We are thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in Brazil even when it isn’t easy.  Thank you again for your prayers and your support!  May God continue to bless your outreach in Chambersburg and around the world!

Yours and His,
Ron and Nancy Johnson
