states, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” This verse has been adopted as the theme and primary motivation for the Chambersburg Bible Church puppet ministry team. We must be willing to bodly share forth the gospel of our Savior to any and all who are in need, especially children! A puppet ministry is a unique avenue for reaching and teaching young children to trust and follow Jesus Christ.
The puppet ministry at CBC began in the spring of 2009 as a unique presentation of the gospel and Bible truths for children in the church. The ministry provides an excellent opportunity for the teens and juniors in the church to serve the Lord in reaching others for Christ and becoming involved in aspects of children’s ministries. A collection of “puppeteers” traveled to New York in the summer of 2009 in support of a teen missions trip with the Richmond family at their church plant in Queens. The team was blessed with many opportunities to present the gospel to many children in a few community parks.
The puppet ministry team is very excited to continue serving the Lord by preparing to integrate the ministry with the weekly Children’s Church program. The team currently meets on select Sundays at 6PM before the service for practice, beginning each session with prayer and a short devotional.
