Text: Matthew 7:24-27Matthew 7:24-27
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Topic: The Wise Man and the Foolish Man

On Sunday, March 1st, Evangelist Mark Kittrell preached a powerful message on “The Wise Man and the Foolish Man.” Matthew 7:24-27Matthew 7:24-27
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
describes two men, a wise man and a foolish man. These men represent two types of people in life. As in Matthew 7, these types of people make two different choices which result in two different outcomes. Interestingly, there is only one fundamental difference between these two types of people. The difference is that the wise man chooses to act when he hears God’s truth, and the foolish man chooses to ignore God’s truth. Which type of person are you?

Text: Hosea 6:1-3Hosea 6:1-3
6 1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Topic: Showers of Blessing

On May 1-4, we had the privilege of having Evangelist Mark Kittrell preach for our spring Evangelistic Meetings. In this first message, he preached from Hosea 6:1-3Hosea 6:1-3
6 1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
and explained how we know we need a time of refreshing from the Lord when we start becoming comfortable in the world. We know we need a time of refreshing when sin finds its way into our life, and we refuse to deal with it. We know we need a time of refreshing when we become complacent toward spiritual things. The encouragement from Hosea is to return to the Lord.
